Have a Question?

Gladiolus Adrenalin is a beautiful flowering bulb that produces tall, elegant spikes covered with delicate, ruffled pink flowers. The blooms feature soft blush-pink petals with deeper rosy-pink markings towards the centre, creating a lovely contrast that makes each flower stand out. As the flowers open gradually from the bottom of the spike upwards, the plant provides a long-lasting display of colour throughout the flowering season. Its tall, upright stems and attractive, sword-shaped green leaves make it a wonderful choice for garden beds, borders and large containers. Gladiolus Adrenalin adds a soft, romantic touch to outdoor spaces and looks equally beautiful when planted in groups or as a focal point in a flower garden. These flowers are also excellent for cut-flower arrangements, adding height, colour and elegance to bouquets and indoor displays. With plenty of sunlight, fertile soil and regular watering, Gladiolus Adrenalin can reward you with beautiful blooms in approximately 80–100 days after planting, depending on the growing conditions.

Growing guide for Gladiolus Adrenalin Bulbs

Planting instructions

Prepare the soil by loosening it to a depth of about 25–30 cm and mixing in well-rotted compost. Plant the bulbs, also called corms, pointed side up, about 10–15 cm deep in the ground and 10–15 cm apart. For containers, use a pot at least 35–40 cm deep and 30–35 cm wide, with drainage holes.

Growing Requirements

Pests

Gladiolus may be affected by thrips, aphids, slugs and snails. Avoid overwatering and poor drainage to prevent bulb rot and fungal diseases, and remove affected leaves promptly.

soil

Gladiolus grows best in fertile, loose, well-drained sandy loam soil rich in organic matter. A slightly acidic to neutral soil with a pH of around 5.5–7.0 is suitable for healthy growth.

spot

Choose a sunny, sheltered spot that receives at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily. A flower bed, garden border or spacious sunny patio is ideal, as the tall flower spikes may need support against strong winds.

temperature

A temperature range of around 15–25°C is suitable for healthy growth and flowering. Protect the bulbs from frost and avoid prolonged exposure to extreme heat, especially when the plants are young.

watering

Water thoroughly after planting and keep the soil evenly moist during active growth. Water when the top layer of soil begins to dry, avoiding waterlogging, which can cause the bulbs to rot.

how to harvest

Cut the flower spike when the first one or two flowers at the bottom begin to open, preferably during the cooler hours of the day. Use clean, sharp scissors and place the stems in fresh water immediately to help keep the flowers looking fresh for longer.
