Oxalis Pink is a charming flowering bulb that brings soft colour and delicate beauty to gardens, balconies and containers. The plant grows from small bulbs and produces neat, clover-like green leaves that form a compact, attractive mound. During the flowering season, slender stems rise above the foliage and carry pretty, five-petalled flowers in shades of pink, ranging from soft blush to brighter rosy pink depending on growing conditions. The flowers have a simple, delicate appearance and stand out beautifully against the green leaves. Oxalis is naturally compact, making it a good choice for pots, window boxes, borders and small garden spaces. Its fresh foliage and cheerful flowers also make it a lovely addition to mixed flower displays. The plant generally enjoys bright light, well-drained soil and moderate watering, and with the right care, the bulbs can return and flower again in suitable growing conditions.

Planting instructions
Choose a pot that is at least 8–10 inches wide and 8–10 inches deep, with good drainage holes at the bottom. A wider container is useful if you want to plant several bulbs together. Fill it with well-draining potting mix and plant the bulbs about 3–5 cm deep, keeping a little space between them. Avoid planting the bulbs too deeply, as this can slow growth and increase the risk of rot.

Oxalis is generally easy to grow, but young shoots and foliage can sometimes attract aphids, spider mites, thrips and snails or slugs. Check the leaves regularly, especially during warm weather. Aphids and other small insects can often be removed with a strong spray of water or treated with neem oil or insecticidal soap. Snails and slugs can be picked off by hand, particularly in the evening. The main disease problem is usually related to excess moisture and poor drainage. Overwatering can cause bulb or root rot, while constantly wet foliage can encourage fungal problems. Use a pot with drainage holes, avoid letting the plant sit in water and allow the soil to dry slightly between waterings.

Oxalis Pink grows best in loose, fertile and well-drained soil. A good potting mix can be made with garden soil, compost and cocopeat or another moisture-holding material, along with some perlite or coarse sand for drainage. The soil should hold enough moisture for healthy growth but should never remain soggy. Slightly acidic to neutral soil is suitable.

Choose a spot that receives bright light and around 4–6 hours of sunlight. Gentle morning sunlight is especially useful, while some afternoon shade is beneficial in hot climates. Oxalis Pink can grow well on balconies, terraces, patios and garden borders as long as it gets enough light. Good air circulation is also important, particularly when growing several plants together.

Oxalis Pink prefers mild to warm growing conditions, generally around 15–25°C. It grows best when temperatures are comfortable rather than extremely hot. Protect the plant from prolonged exposure to severe summer heat and harsh frost. In very hot regions, afternoon shade can help protect the foliage and flowers.
watering
Water the bulbs thoroughly after planting and then keep the soil lightly moist but never waterlogged while the plant is actively growing. Check the top few centimetres of soil before watering. If the surface feels slightly dry, water deeply until a little water drains from the bottom of the container. Reduce watering during periods when the plant is naturally dormant or when growth has slowed considerably. Overwatering is one of the easiest ways to cause bulb rot.
how to harvest
Oxalis Pink flowers are delicate and can be used in small, informal arrangements. For the best vase life, cut flower stems early in the morning or in the cooler part of the day, when the flowers are fresh and well hydrated. Choose stems with freshly opened flowers or buds that are just beginning to open. Use a clean, sharp pair of scissors or pruning shears and make the cut close to the base of the stem without damaging the surrounding foliage. Place the stems in clean water immediately after cutting. Remove any leaves that would sit below the water level and change the water regularly to keep the arrangement fresh.
