Growing guide for Ranunculus Dark Pink Bulbs

Planting instructions

This step is essential. Begin by soaking the bulbs before planting. Place them in a container filled with room-temperature water and let them soak for one to two hours. This will encourage sprouting. Plant Ranunculus bulbs in the spring or fall. Choose a sunny spot in your garden with well-drained soil. Dig a hole about 2-3 inches deep. Place the bulb with the "claws" facing down (pointy side up) and cover it with soil. Space the bulbs about 4-6 inches apart to allow room for growth. If you prefer growing Ranunculus in containers, use a pot with good drainage holes. Fill the container with well-draining potting mix. Plant the bulbs about 2-3 inches deep, again with the claws down, and space them as mentioned earlier.

Growing Requirements

Pests

Ranunculus can be prone to aphids and powdery mildew. Regular inspection and appropriate care can prevent these issues.

soil

Ranunculus thrives in well-drained, fertile soil enriched with organic matter. Good drainage is essential to avoid root rot.

spot

Select a sunny spot for planting, as Ranunculus requires at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily for optimal flowering.

temperature

Ranunculus prefers cooler temperatures between 10-18°C. In warmer climates, partial shade can help them thrive.

watering

Water regularly but allow the soil to dry slightly between waterings. Overwatering can cause the bulbs to rot.

how to harvest

Ranunculus flowers will start to bloom about 90 days after planting. Once the blooms are fully open and vibrant, it's time to cut them for your bouquets. Use sharp scissors or garden shears to cut the stems, leaving about 1-2 inches of stem attached to the flower. Harvest the blooms in the morning when they are well-hydrated for longer vase life. Remove any leaves that will be submerged in water in your bouquet vase to prevent rotting. Ranunculus make stunning additions to floral arrangements, so enjoy your beautiful, colourful bouquets!
