Tomato Piramide Seeds produce uniquely pyramid-shaped, vibrant red tomatoes known for their firm texture and rich, tangy-sweet flavour. The plants are compact yet productive, making them ideal for both small gardens and containers. Originating from Italy, this tomato variety is cherished for its balance of acidity and sweetness, perfect for fresh salads, sauces, and Mediterranean-style dishes. Each fruit has a glossy skin and a dense, meaty interior, ideal for slicing or roasting. A versatile choice for home gardeners who love growing flavourful, ornamental tomatoes.
Planting instructions
Tomato Piramide can be grown easily in containers, raised beds, or garden soil. Sow seeds about 0.5–1 cm deep in moist, well-draining soil. Maintain a plant-to-plant distance of 45–60 cm to ensure proper growth and airflow between plants.
Growing Requirements
pests & diseases
Common pests include aphids, whiteflies, and tomato hornworms. The plant can occasionally be affected by blight or leaf spot if overwatered. Regular pruning, neem oil sprays, and maintaining good soil hygiene help prevent these issues.
soil
Tomato Piramide thrives in well-drained, loamy soil rich in organic matter. Ensure the soil pH is slightly acidic to neutral, ideally between 6.0 and 7.0. Adding compost before sowing enhances nutrient content and root development.
spot
Choose a sunny location that receives at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily. For container growth, place the pots near a bright balcony, terrace, or window sill.
temperature
Ideal growing temperatures range between 20°C and 30°C. Avoid exposing young plants to frost or temperatures below 10°C.
watering
Water the plants deeply and regularly, ensuring the soil remains moist but never waterlogged. Reduce watering slightly once fruits start ripening to enhance flavour and prevent cracking.
how to harvest
Harvest ripe fruits 70–80 days after transplanting, when they have turned fully red and firm to the touch. Use freshly harvested tomatoes in pasta sauces, bruschetta, soups, or salads. Their rich, tangy flavour also pairs beautifully with mozzarella and basil for classic Italian recipes.
